My Story
My woodworking story started in 2011 when, at the age of 25 and shortly after my father had passed away, I was loitering around his basement woodshop and truly noticed for the first time how much woodworking equipment he had. I had recently discovered a love for cooking and decided that making an end grain cutting board would be a good distraction from recent events. By the end of this humble first project I was hooked on the craft of woodworking and in the following years I spent countless hours, before and after work, learning and making woodworking projects of all sizes.
Many of my best selling items were first made during these years. Pallet Coasters for my wife, my signature Wine Tree Wine Racks for wedding presents and Pen Holders for Christmas gift exchanges. The consuming nature of the design and creation process of each piece is still an outlet that allows me all the freedom, focus and fun I can ask for.
In December of 2016, I started Clark Fine Wood Products, moved to Burton Ohio and upgraded from my parent’s basement to my own garage. While my time after work these days is dedicated to my family (and cooking!), you’ll find me cutting, carving, sanding and shaping the next Clark Fine Wood Products piece every morning before work, 7 days a week.
